Welcome to ThinkVail – shop our list of the best pickleball paddles for women featuring lightweight rackets by Prolite, Gamma, ONIX, NewFit, Amazon’s Aces, A11N, PaddleTek, Selkirk, Sweet Pickle and more.
Pickleball paddles are fairly universal, but generally, women have smaller hands and are not as powerful as men so they lean towards a lighter paddle with a smaller grip. But it is really all about personal preference and what feels good in the hand. Most importantly, the paddle must have the right weight and balance for you.
These featured paddles are all lightweight with thin or smaller grips that are perfect for most women’s hands.
The majority of paddles range from 6 oz to 14 oz but lightweight paddles are 7.3 oz and under. The lighter the paddle the easier it is to play for longer length of time with less fatigue and requires less arm strength. However, lighter paddles usually mean you sacrifice power.
A smaller grip is perfect for a smaller hand and allows for more wrist action, so it’s easier to put a spin on the ball. Standard grip range from 4 to 4 5/8 inches. Small grip are generally 4 to 4 1/8″ inches and are generally best for women but if you have arthritis or a wrist or elbow injury you may opt for a thicker grip.
Find your correct grip size by measuring the distance from the very tip of your ring finger down to the middle (second) crease of your palm with a ruler. When in doubt, size down, because you can always increase the grip size with an over-wrap but you cannot make the grip smaller.
OK let’s face it, we women are usually more fashionable than most of our male counterparts, so colors and patterns are important. Most of these paddles come in a variety of fun colors and graphics so you can easily coordinate with your outfit or just choose your favorite color, including pink!
