#10 Best Tools for High Altitude Gardening in Colorado – Bobbex Deer Repellent

OK, so no list of high country gardening tools would be complete without deer deterrent spray. In Colorado, like many places, there are just a ton of deer, and although we love to watch them, we don’t love to watch them browsing on our flowers. And although no deer repellent is foolproof this is one of the best.

  • Deer repellent is a spray made from all natural and recycled ingredients
  • Applied directly on the surface of foliage to repel deer
  • It is readily diluted in water
  • Environmentally compatible and harmless to all wildlife including humans, pets, birds and aquatic life.
  • Ready-to-use reusable pump sprayer can be refilled.
  • Bobbex boasts an impressive Protective Index score of 93%, only a physical fence barrier works better.
  • This Deer Repellent is effective but it is stinky, it needs about 24-hours for the smell to go away so DO NOT spray right before a dinner party or when you want to enjoy the outdoors around the sprayed area.
  • Made of a blend of ingredients that includes active proteins, Meat Meal, Fish Meal and Fish Oil to create a multi-redundancy bad “smell and taste” so the deer don’t want to eat it and will move on.

  • Thanks a lot for sharing with us this excellent article about high altitude gardening tools idea. Recently we moved to our new house here in Britain. We struggling to find proper gardening tools which I can't explain. But after reading this article I think I found everything we need in one place and I love that I can just click on the button and "Buy Now".  thanks for making life so much easier. I just showed the article to my husband and we are choosing which tools we gonna buy and place an order now. Thanks again.

We are hear to help, let me know ow the tools work out for you, I hope you love them as much as I do!

  • Great gardening tools you have shared and I must say, for a gardener like me, I found this very interesting and helpful too. The one that got my attention the most is the app, smart sprinkler controller. The ease, freedom, convenience that this would bring to me would be immense and I kind of like the fact that it could be controlled from some miles away. Great post. Thanks

  • I am currently at a family house that I just started caretaking for in the Georgian mountains and they really need some equipment here to care for their property. So I'm here, on this site, looking for proper tools for them.  I like the cordless, electric mower, that's really awesome but I am disappointed that it doesn't have a clippings catcher. The hanging tools and the automatic sprinkler are both "a must buy". Thanks for sharing this helpful info about the best gardening tools.

    • Hi Henderson, so happy that this post about high altitude gardening tools came in handy for you.  I know how frustrating it can be to try and maintain a big property without good tools. The Greenworks cordless electric mower can make easy work of small to midsize lawns.  The mower DOES have a clipping catcher if you want to bag your clipped grass or use the mulcher if you just want to let it the the clippings help fertilize your lawn, which is what I prefer to do.

The hanging gardening tool organizer will keep all your gardening tools organized and you will always know where they are, I hate it when I have to spend a half an hour just looking for the tool that I need before I even begin to do the chore at hand.

And lastly, the automatic smart sprinkler controllermakes short work of the never ending, watering chore.  I love that you can control it remotely so you can even water while your at work thus freeing up your weekends to have moore fun!

  • Awesome article to help all of us high altitude gardeners. I live in Colorado Springs and although growing plants is easier here then it is up in Vail, Colorado, our flowers thrive only to get eaten by all the deer.  It is so frustrating.  We love to look at the deer and watch them with their fawns and brose out in the meadow.  But every night they come in and wreak havoc on the gardens.  I am soooo interested in Bobbex deer repellent spray.  I am going to give it a try and see if it will help keep them away.

    • Hi Aabidah, I am so happy you enjoyed this article about the tools you need for high altitude gardening in Colorado.  Yes, I feel for you, we have the same issue and I hope the Bobbex deer repellent spray helps. It does smell awful, but hopefully it will keep your flowers safe.  It usually works really well fo me till the end of the summer once food becomes scarcer, it's hard to keep them off tasty flowers no matter what.  You may want to check out the article The 10 Best High Altitude Plants for Colorado.  All of the plants in the post are very deer resistant and easy growers, so you may want to change out some of your more tasty plants with plants that don't taste as good to the deer.  Hopefully, if nothing else maybe they will go to your neighbors gardens instead - LOL!

  • I owe you a big thank you for giving this really  helpful and remarkable review about the tools you need for high altitude gardening. My Mom lives in Colorado and LOVES gardening, I live in New York City and know nothing about gardening.  I want to get her a gift for her birthday that she will love and I think you hit the nail on the head with the Gardening Tool Set which looks like it has my Mom's name all over it! particularly love the foam kneeling pad as lately she has been complaining that her knees are bothering her (which will happen when you are 72).  I am also inclined to get the tool rack for her, as currently her tools are all over the place.  I think she would love it if her rake, weed wacker, shovels, diggers and hose were all in one place.  Thanks so much for the perfect gift ideas.

    • Hi Willy, what a lovely son you are!  I think your Mom will love both of those items.  The kneeling pad in Gardening Tool Set is awesome for sore knees but the pruner has spring movement to make squeezing easier and comfortable grips to reduce hand cramps and hand fatigue.  The Garage Wall Tool Organizer is also going to be a big hit. I think she will appreciate so much, that you are helping her to keep doing the hobby that she loves. Thanks for reading.

  • I'm glad I found such a useful article about high altitude gardening. I live in Mexico City which sits at 7,000 ft, so although we are not as high as Denver, we are definitely up there in elevation.  I agree with you that there are many challenges to high altitude gardening, and I love the tools you have recommended to make it easier.  The Smart Sprinkler Controller is awesome.  One of the hardest things to do up at altitude is to keep your plants properly watered, especially newly planted flowers, they always need additional moisture.  I love that this one works remotely so I can water even when I am at work. This is definitely a keeper.  I am also in love with the electric, cordless lawnmower because I am so sick of pulling the stringy-thing to get my gas mower going and then of course there is the noise and the smell of petrol.  The electric mower seems so wonderful in comparison.  Thank you so much for sharing all of these great suggestions.

    • I am so happy you enjoyed the article about high altitude gardening and found some items that can help you in Mexico City.  Yes both of those items are fantastic.  Watering at elevation can be such a chore and if your area has drought times like we do in Colorado, then it gets even more confusing.  The Smart Sprinkler Controller makes it so much easier and convenient to water.    Yes, I am in love with my electric, cordless mower for all the reasons you stated but also because it is so light and easy to push.  trust me once you try this Greenworks lawn mower you will wonder how you went so long without it! Thanks for reading!

  • Cool article about High Altitude Gardening, I love that you featured the best shoe in the world-SLOGGERS gardening clogs.  These shoes are fabulous! So comfortable, easy to put on and kick off, super easy to clean.  They are my favorite gardening tool whether you are gardening at altitude or not.

    • Hi Dane so happy to hear that you enjoyed this article about High Altitude Gardening in Colorado.  You are right, many of these tools can be used for any type of gardening but they just make the challenge of high altitude gardening a little bit easier.

Like you I also love Sloggers gardening clogsand have been wearing them forever, they last for years and years.  We have a lot of weeds with burrs or prickers that either get stuck on other shoes (especially the laces) with these I can just walk wherever and not spend hours removing burrs or other weed hitchhikers after a stroll around the property. Thanks for reading!
