Beaver Creek Ski-In Ski-Out Hotels

Welcome to ThinkVail – we hope you find this article about Beaver Creek ski-in, ski-out hotels helpful.

The ease and convenience of a ski-in ski-out resort is truly luxurious and both Beaver Creek and Bachelor Gulch boast quite a few slopeside properties that fit the bill. Enjoy coffee and beautiful sunrises from your private deck and then put on your skis and head down to lifts that are just moments away. At the end of the day just ski down to your property and hand your skis to your ski valet or ski right to your unit’s front door (and hopefully hot tub). These slope side properties make it easy.

Keep in mind that majority of slopeside lodges are located in three different areas.

  • At the base of the Buckaroo Express Gondola which is the beginner and kids’ ski school area. This is on the mountain but to access the greater ski hill you will need to take an additional ski way or skate further down the slope to the Centennial Lift.
  • Hotels that have access through Elkhorn Lift (Chair 14) are very convenient but this lift is very weather-dependent and usually opens later and closes earlier than the rest of the mountain. Check out snow conditions and try to book between mid December and mid March for a better chance of the lift being open.
  • Hotels in Bachelor Gulch are ski-in and ski-out as they are situated right on the ski slopes in the middle of the mountain. Most properties utilize the Ritz Carlton on-site lift ticket office and the Ritz-Carlton and Bachelor Gulch Ski Lift (Chair 16). The slopeside location makes these properties more secluded and removed from shops and restaurants of Beaver Creek Village. You will need to take a resort shuttle or your own transportation to go or come back from town, if you are not on skis.

  • This is a wonderful selection of hotels and resorts for people who love to ski. My family of five (with 3 kids) are planning to come to Beaver Creek for a family ski vacation this winter.  Can you tell me which ski-in ski-out lodge is best for families with kids?

    • Hi Michel,
Thanks for your question. I think one of the best places to stay with kids is the Park Hyatt Beaver Creek. The hotel is located just steps from the Buckaroo Express Gondola that services the beginner area and the Kids Ski School area. So your kids are just steps from their daily lessons and this makes it so easy. Also the Park Hyatt is very family friendly with lots of fun activities like roasting s'mores and hot tubs onsite. They are also super close to ice skating and the shops and restaurants of Beaver Creek Village. This Park Hyatt is perfect for families.

  • It is amazing, all the ski-in ski-out lodging options you have presented and every single one of them look like a place I would like to go to and take my wife.  We are actually from Alberta but we are always looking for holidays that are close enough to drive to.  As we have driven a few places in Colorado I have no doubt that Beaver Creek should be next on our list.  I will show my wife this website and let her decide. Thanks for the lodging suggestions.

  • We use to vacation at Beaver Creek with my brother/his wife and 3 boys and my husband and our 3 girl.  Our trips were packed with crazy ski stories, near misses, beautiful scenery and tales of the bunny slope and are still remembered as one of the most hilarious times of our lives.  Your article reviews many lodges and accommodations added since our trip almost 25 years ago, but I can tell you the ski in/ski out locations are the best for families!  The amenities of the lodges which include hot tub, fireplace and kitchen are indispensable - especially after a full day of skiing.

  • Hi Sharon,
Thanks so much for sharing your memories of a past Beaver Creek ski trip, that does sound fun. Yes, I believe that a ski-in ski-out vacation to Vail is definitely a memory-making once-in-a-lifetime experience that your family will remember and cherish forever!

  • My wife and I have been looking to take a vacation to Beaver Creek this winter.  We live in Phoenix and we try to get out each winter and get some skiing in.  So, we like Colorado and Utah in the winters.  Looking at your article, I am interested in Borders Lodge. Do these units come with a full kitchen, or a kitchenette type setup?  There are so many options to choose from, so it's tough to narrow down. We would like to be close enough to the village to walk, but far enough to have a little bit of privacy.  Thanks for the overview of these various lodging options.  I look forward to hearing back from you.

  • Hi Steve,
Thank you so much for your comment. Yes, the Borders Lodge, it is a lovely hotel but keep in mind that the Elkhorn Lift which is the lift that the Borders Lodge uses for ski access is weather-dependent so it opens later and closes earlier in the season than other chairlifts so do not expect ski access before mid-December or after mid March and if it has been a light snow year it may be closed as well. But, during a normal snow year in the meat of winter, the ski access is great and the lodge is just a short 5 minute walk to the village. Also there is a free shuttle that runs throughout Beaver Creek and Bachelor Gulch very regularly. Borders Lodge is a three-star facility, but it exceeds expectations.
